The UK Atomic Energy Authority is a non departmental government body carrying out research into the potential of nuclear fusion as a future source of energy.

At the Culham Centre for Fusion Energy the Authority hosts the world's largest magnetic fusion experiment, JET (Joint European Torus), on behalf of its European partners. The JET facilities are collectively used by all European fusion laboratories under the EUROfusion consortium.

The Authority has a requirement for the manufacture, supply, installation and commissioning of process plant for a materials detritiation facility associated with the JET facilities.

The works are to be carried out in an acceptably safe and environmentally responsible manner and all personnel are to be suitably qualified and experienced for the nature of the contract.
