SCHEDULE OF WORKEVERY YEAR1. HV CIRCUIT BREAKERS AND OIL SWITCHESInspect all substations including its security, inspect switchgear for oil / compound leaks and report on condition of paint work.2. TRANSFORMERSTake transformer oil sample and test for dielectric strength, acidity and moisture content. Provide test report.3. RMU’sCheck SF6 Gas levels in Ring Main Units where appropriate.4. LV CIRCUIT BREAKERSInspect, clean and grease contacts, check connections, check integrity of all earth bonding connections.EVERY TWO YEARS1. OIL CIRCUIT BREAKERSExamine main arcing contacts.Clean and examine tripping and closing mechanism, isolators, bushing and control devices.Tank winding mechanism and interlocks.Test oil samples for dielectric strength and moisture content, change where necessary.2. TRANSFORMERInspect and check the external condition of the transformers, including foundations, oil level, oil leaks, cable boxes, paint work and earthing connections.Test oil samples for dielectric strength, acidity and moisture content. Provide test report.3. OIL SWITCHInspect and check the external condition of the oil switch, including foundations, oil level, oil leaks, cable boxes, paint work and earthing connections.Carry out full operational check to prove interlocks and tripping of the unit.Check internal operating mechanism, contracts (fixed and moving) and bushings.Test oil samples for dielectric strength, acidity and moisture content. Provide test report.4. LV SWITCHExamine main arcing contacts. Inspect, clean and grease contacts, check connections, check integrity of all earth bonding connections.Clean and examine tripping and closing mechanism, isolators. Bushing and control devices. Carry out a full operational check to prove interlocks and tripping of the unit via its protective devices.5. PROTECTIONCheck and carry out secondary injection testing of protection relays to ensure operation within the specified limits of error as per BS 142. Provide a test report.
