Contract for Infection Prevention and Control Services. Term of Contract: 1.4.2016 to 31.3.2018 with a 2 x 12 month option to extend at the Council's discretion. In the event that the contract is extended any extension shall be on the same terms and conditions of the contract as the original contract period. Aims for Service: — Reduce the risks posed by HCAIs and other communicable diseases in the local population — Provide assurance to CEC around IPC standards within the community services; — Provide evidence based advice on the IPC to locally contracted provider organisations; — Provide and regularly update IPC policies and guidelines relevant to the scope of CEC; — Provide IPC expertise into the commissioning process; — Provide necessary education and training to staff within the CEC community; — Co-ordinate, manage and advise on outbreaks and single cases or clusters of communicable diseases and HCAI; — To lead on prevention work respiratory disease, Gastro-intestinal infections, blood borne and zoonotic infections; — To promote prevention of infection through local targeted awareness raising and education activities amongst staff and organisations working in education, health and social care. The values given in this notice are only estimations and take into account the extension options that are indicative of existing usage plus a responsible estimated value of potential future uptake. The authority gives no guarantee or warranty or makes any representation as to the accuracy of any indicative volumes or as to the value of the work during the contract period. The estimated value of this contract over the 4 year period (2+1+1) is 710 000 GBP.
