The announcement of Oracle PeopleSoft Campus Solutions v9.2 (targeted for general availability in late 2015), provides the University with the opportunity to review our current deployment 10 years after the initial implementation in 2004/2005. This evaluation will consider the new functionality delivered by Oracle as part of the continuous delivery model, and how these enhancements can support the current and future requirements of the University. The overall objective being to maximise the return on the investment in Oracle products by favouring delivered functionality over customisation and bespoke development where possible. The approach aims to deliver the upgrade, with external partner support, allowing us to continue the maintenance of the live system, releases, and statutory changes, and any critical development project needs. The intention is that any changes would be developed as a ‘bolt-on’, which could be transitioned into the v9.2 environment, with the production 9.0 environment remaining fundamentally unchanged during the upgrade project.
