The United Nations Support Office in Somalia (UNSOS) has a requirement to establish a contract for the Installation, On-site Training, Repair and Maintenance Services for Medical Equipment in UNSOS/AMISOM Medical facilities in Somalia. The requirement involves installation of new equipment, on-site training, periodic repair and maintenance services for durability and provision of uninterrupted medical services related to the current equipment available at UNSOS/AMISOM Hospitals. The United Nations Support Office for AMISOM (hereinafter referred to as “UNSOA” or “the United Nations), seeks Expressions of Interest (EOI) from duly registered, authorized and competent companies for the Provision of Medical Oxygen Filling Cylinders in Mombasa, Kenya. Below is a brief description of the requirement: UNON seeks duly qualified companies to provide aircraft fit for air ambulance purpose, properly equipped and maintained, with flight crew and maintenance personnel who are qualified, competent and fully licensed, and with medical staff properly trained and equipped for aeromedical response work, immediately available when called upon to undertake an evacuation. The purpose of this solicitation is to establish a comprehensive Aeromedevac Services local system contract between the air carrier (Contractor) and UNON for the supply of air ambulance services/aero medical evacuation services. The services shall be rendered on request from Chief Medical Officer of UNON and will include Full air ambulance service involving medical/casualty evacuation for all categories of critically ill patients suffering from all nature of illness and injuries. Provision of full scope of service is required, including in-flight life support services and equipment, drugs, and medical personnel. The aim of this request for proposal is to select the optimal provider for an initial period of three (3) yeasr, with an option to extend for additional one-year periods for a total period not to exceed five (5) years i.e. 3+1+1, subject to satisfactory contractor performance on and as when required basis. a) Pick up of specimens from the UN Clinic (Joint Medical Service unit) located at the UN Gigiri Complex in Nairobi, no later than 9.30 am daily for delivery to the respective laboratory facility. b) Processing of samples according to the tests requested using standard procedures to ensure accurate results in a timely manner. c) Delivery of results within the time frame indicated for each test and as shown in the schedule of laboratory investigations. d) Supply of specimen collection tubes, containers, needles, syringes, transport cool box etc. and courier of the samples from the UN Clinic to the laboratory. e) Electronic delivery of summary data and provision of statistics on specific trends, to the Chief Medical Officer at UNON, for management decision-making to guide health promotion and prevention. Such statistics shall be required on monthly basis. f) Support and facilitate sample collection from remote locations in other duty stations located outside of Nairobi city, for laboratory analysis, as and when needed. This may entail provision of courier service from Wilson Airport on arrival. g) Provider will not be required to avail a phlebotomist. Instead provider will train UNON clinicians on their requirements as and when necessary. UNON clinicians will undertake the phlebotomy exercise on a daily basis.
