NSAI is seeking to create a panel of Subcontract Auditors/Product Device Reviewers, to undertake third party audits/inspections at NSAI Client Companies, from potential candidates with the following qualifications, skills and expertise: - Qualified Lead Auditor in The Medical Device Sector - Knowledge of some/ all the relevant standards, directives and guidance documents pertaining to the review of medical device technical files and auditing of quality management systems of medical device manufacturers is required e.g. Medical Device Directives MDD 93/42/EEC; IVD 98/79/EC; AIMD 90/385/EEC; TSE Directive 2003/32/EC; Blood Directive 2000/70/EC and ISO 13485:2012 or equivalents. - Knowledge/ experience in orthopaedic medical devices and/or - Knowledge/ experience in medical device software and /or - Knowledge/ experience in medical device functional implants. - Interpersonal and communication skills are essential as part of working with a multi-disciplinary team dealing with national and international clients. - IT skills with a working knowledge of Word processing and spreadsheets, please state the programs you would have proficiency in. TII has a requirement to make available certain medical and occupational medical services to all employees. TII requires a ‘One Stop Shop’ medical centre which shall cover all the requirements of TII or shall provide the services of suitable sub-consultants to provide those services not standard in their own practice. The Consultant must be able to provide all or most of the following, non-exhaustive, list of services (or provide suitable sub-consultants where they are unable to provide the Service themselves) for persons nominated by/referred by TII’s HR Department: • General GP services - visits • Employer staff referrals (with and without the production of a report) including Return to Work medicals, if and when required • Pre-employment medicals • Pre-employment medical overviews (e.g. where potential inbound employee has medical completed abroad, which a review on behalf of TII) • Health checks for staff every two or three years to include blood tests, cholesterol tests and, where necessary, heart check tests • Absentee management assessments and reports • Assessments in relation to ill health retirements • Assessments in relation to critical illness cases (in accordance with the Civil Service sick leave provisions) • Minor occupational accident care • On-call visits when appropriate (exceptional cases) • Travel vaccinations • Vaccinations against occupational related hazards (e.g. for working in/near contaminated water, waste grounds) • Flu jabs (to be delivered annually on site within TII) • Eyesight tests (e.g. colour blindness tests) . • Drug & alcohol testing (the facility to do a D&A test - on site or, depending on the circumstances, at the medical centre - following an incident or for random testing). • Access to physiotherapy services • Counselling services as required (TII also has an Employee Assistance Programme in place)

CIT requires a suitably qualified medical device manufacturer which the capability and capacity to manufacture product to the Institute’s specific requirements and to work with it to achieve CE marking and FDA approval for this medical device. 2.2 The intention will be to place Applicants that demonstrate their capability and capacity to meet CIT’s needs on a Framework Agreement. During the life of that Agreement, when CIT has a developed product which it believes is ready for volume manufacture and regulatory submission, CIT will invite all those Applicants admitted to the Framework Agreement to submit tender for that opportunity. 2.3 It is anticipated that Applicants admitted to the Framework Agreement will meet the following requirements: - A Medical Device manufacture with a clean-room facility if required as per the regulatory class and device requirements. - Have an accredited Quality Management System to ISO 13485 for Medical Device Manufacture, - An accredited Quality Management System to cover Design Control would be advantageous - Experience in working with Institute of Technology on Enterprise Ireland Commercialisation Funds or experience with Start-Up Enterprises - Experience in Design and development of medical device products - Capabilities to develop, build & test prototype devices - Manufacture, assembly and packaging capabilities in- house - Capability to carry out/manage medical device biocompatibility testing - Experience in compiling and submitting for regulatory approval of Class II and Class III medical devices, CE Mark and FDA approval - Quality Assurance, inspection and testing capabilities in- house.
