The WISER (Working with Industrial Spaces to Exemplify Reuse) project brings together a broad spectrum of interrelated operations and expertise to champion the development of resource efficiency. The aim is to produce a centre to demonstrate excellence in reuse practice including the construction process. The Project seeks to lead change from waste to resource through reuse, redesign, research and education and as such it is desired that tendering contractors should illustrate experience in the following: 1. Systems: projects incorporating special elements of sustainable design such as grey water reuse, rainwater harvesting, composting toilets, reed beds, urine treatment dilution, green wall, PV panels, Solar panels, CHP and heat pumps. 2. Reuse Material: refurbishment projects incorporating reused materials. Refurbishment projects incorporating recycled materials. 3. Natural Materials: projects incorporating ecological design aspects with special materials that seek to exclude petrochemical based products. 4. Non-standard Construction Materials: projects incorporating elements of non-standard construction such as hempcrete walling. 5. Innovation: projects that seek to demonstrate innovative and sustainable technologies. The project is the refurbishment of the boiler house building. It is a steel framed structure with external walls and roof consisting of single skin metal cladding with glazed panels at high level. There is a 2-storey section of the building at the northern end which is clad externally with brick. The refurbished boilerhouse building will accommodate a café, café kitchen, education and training room, fashion workshop, furniture workshop, cycling workshop, paint workshop, toilets, plant areas, Eco store, exhibition space and staff accommodation. The site consists of the following elements: Water Reservoir, District Heating Boiler House and Chimney, Redundant Tanks and Pumps. The Valuation Office is the State Valuation property organisation in Ireland. The core business of the Office is the provision of accurate, up-to-date statutory valuations of commercial and industrial properties for rating purposes. Full details of the role and function are available at www.valoff.ie A national revaluation programme is currently under-way and the early completion of that programme is a priority for the Office. Accordingly the Valuation Office has been considering a number of initiatives which would accelerate the programme. 1 of these is the use of external resources to compliment the Office's own internal capacity, through the external service delivery of elements of the valuation function. The Valuation Office intends, as a pilot project, to engage a contractor to conduct the revaluation of 2 rating authority areas involving approximately 5 000 cases, through all necessary stages of the statutory revaluation process including initial assessment of valuation, issue of proposed valuation certificates, consideration of representations from ratepayers, issuing final valuation certificates and dealing with appeals to the Independent Valuation Tribunal. The pilot project will be undertaken in the Carlow and Kilkenny Rating Authority areas. Reporting to a project board in the Valuation Office, it is envisaged that the contractor would be responsible for the project management, quality assurance and delivery of the contracted services.

ICCD CAMERA to Dublin Institute Technology Marlborough Street, Dublin 1,

DIT Marlborough Street requires the supply of an ICCD Camera to the BioPlasma Research group of the School of Food Science and Environmental Health (‘the School’).

In two-dimensional ICCD imaging of plasma spectral emission, will be used to do a Phase resolved optical emission spectroscopy (PROES). PROES is an important tool for developing fundamental understanding of plasmas, but also has potential for development as a process sensor. The glass/quartz shell transparency issue is one of the biggest disadvantages to any optically based monitoring technique due to the formation of coatings on viewports during plasma processes. This is not an issue for PROES since the time scale is different (ns) to that of OES (ms or s). PROES has time resolution on a ns scale, it is particularly sensitive to energetic electrons and can be adapted for industrial needs, i.e., it has a low cost per lambda and high sensor capabilities. PROES will be used for analysing atomic spectral lines and molecular bands in the discharge spectrum. Consequently, the relative importance of particle (ions, neutrals, radicals, excited molecules) versus radiative (mostly UV) processes in the optimised discharge regime will be identified and the role of key reactive products in biological interactions in correlation with key system parameters will be characterised.
