Summary of the Terms of Reference (LB) FE 05.0192 / 2015 / Conditions "investigation to seepage of RC building materials and industrial by-products in construction for technical safeguards" When using soils and building materials with environmental substances in earthworks are to be taken where technical safeguards to a possible minimize the discharge of pollutants. The "Notice concerning structures for technical safeguards in the use of soils and building materials with environmental substances in earthworks (M TS E)" includes various construction methods to minimize leachate. These can be divided into construction with waterproofing, construction methods with low permeability and core body construction principle. Is of special importance the construction a with low permeability body soils or construction materials with environmentally relevant ingredients (design E) and the so-called core construction (design D), there is need for an additional seal member above the soil or building materials in these environmentally relevant constituents. It is still unclear how the different compared to the soil hydraulic properties of recycled building materials and industrial by-products affect the seepage of these structures. The research project of the water balance of design and construction E to be examined without technical safety measure when using RC building materials and industrial by-products by means of simulation calculations. The calculations are carried out in consideration of realistic boundary conditions in terms of climatic conditions. Terms of Reference - Summary FE 05.0185 / 2014 / CRB "Numerical modeling of the lysimeter BASt" The use of "replacement materials" such as recycled building materials and industrial by-products, as well as anthropogenic contaminated soils according Recycling Act mandatory and meaningful from an economic perspective. These materials are obtained in large quantities and are well suited for use in earthworks, where large quantities of building materials are needed. Soil and groundwater protection are to ensure this. To minimize a possible discharge of pollutants from the materials mentioned above, it is necessary to keep the entry of water into a building of such materials is minimal. These are technical safeguards in the building, which are described in the "Notice concerning structures for technical safeguards in the use of soils and building materials with environmental substances in earthworks (M TS E)". In order to optimally use and improve the technical safety measure in road construction can of water and solute transport must be described realistic and adapted to the specific conditions in the building in replacement construction materials.
