PSNI carries out a diverse range of roles and functions. To allow police officers and staff to effectively perform these roles, they require the provision of furniture suitable to the range of functions carried out. The functions within each location may include offices, stores, dining rooms, changing rooms, custody suites, conference rooms etc. The range of furniture includes desks and tables, chairs, cabinets, lockers, storage racks etc. Whilst most of the items can be specified in advance, the contract will include the requirement for sourcing of individual products. Furniture is required to enable PSNI to comply with their statutory obligations in respect of the Health, Safety and Welfare of Police Officers and Police Staff in the course of their duties. If furniture was not available, officers and staff could not carry out their duties safely or effectively.

Belfast City Council has commissioned the construction of a new Grade A office building to be located at 9-21 Adelaide Street behind the City Hall in Belfast.

The 100 000 ft² building is due to be completed in November 2016 and up to 700 staff will then take occupancy on a phased basis with all staff decanted into the building by end of March 2017.

Queen's University Belfast (hereafter referred to as ‘the University’ or ‘QUB’) wishes to appoint a competent contractor(s) for the supply, delivery and installation of office furniture to the Main Site Tower, the Maths and Physics Teaching Centre and the School of Computer Science. The purpose of the Housing Executive is to provide a service to the whole community, which is fair and impartial and which will bring about an improvement in the standards of housing and environment and makes the best use of tax payers' money. Further information may be found on our website www.nihe.gov.uk The Housing Executive has statutory responsibility for responding to homelessness, in line with the provisions of the Housing (NI) Order 1988. This legislation imposes a number of duties on the Housing Executive, one of which relates to the storage and protection of a homeless applicant's belongings, where certain conditions are met. The Housing Executive requires a Furniture Removal and Storage Service commencing 1.12.2015. This will include: — Physical packing of household items and removal of furniture, household goods and appliances, personal effects and belongings. Disconnection of appliances by a suitably qualified person. — Ongoing storage (if applicable). — Re-delivery and unpacking of household items and furniture. Reconnection of appliances by a suitably qualified person if specifically requested by the Housing Executive. — Disposal of items. This will primarily relate to meeting the Housing Executives statutory responsibilities to Homeless applicants, but may in very limited instances be required for general needs applicants (at the request of the Housing Executives Landlord Services division). The Housing Executive invited tenders based on three Lots. These Lots are: a) Lot 1 — Belfast Area b) Lot 2 — North Area c) Lot 3 — South Area Service providers could bid for 1, 2 or all 3 Lots. The Housing Executive has awarded a Framework Agreement for each Lot stated above. The Housing Executive has awarded contracts to four service providers for each Lot. The Frameworks will be for a duration of 2 years, commencing on 1.12.2015. The Housing Executive have options to extend the Frameworks for an additional 2 x 12-month periods (possible length of Frameworks — 4 years).
