The Education Department is planning to open a new, four storey high school to cater for up to 660 pupils, ages 11 – 16 years, with a phased opening from September 2012.  For the first few years, the school is not expected to rise above 627 pupils.

 

The school, in principle, is looking to provide a locker for each pupil in the school which will be wide enough (400mm) to accommodate motorcycle helmets due to the fact that Guernsey children can ride a motorcycle from the age of 14 years.

 

The lockers will be located on two levels of the school and will be fitted into recesses in the circulation areas.  The school is being built on a slope so all levels with all have direct access from external areas.
