The London Borough of Hillingdon purchases bulk waste and recycling bins for its residents. The purpose of these bins is for the safe disposal and collection of commercial and housing estate refuse and recycling. There are currently 3,700 refuse bins (mix of all sizes) plus 1,700 recycling bins in operation across the Borough, varying in age from less than one year to ten years and over. The bins are used on a weekly 'front line' service to approximately 20,000 domestic dwellings and 1,300 commercial premises. On occasion these bins require some level of repair and maintenance to maintain their useful life.

The core objective is to ensure the implementation of the external decoration and/or repair works to the external envelope to ensure that untimely deterioration of the building fabric does not occur and to substantially reduce the need for responsive repairs. Scope of Works Works include the painting and decoration of all previously painted high maintenance external surfaces to dwellings, out-buildings and communal areas (i.e. all timber and metal elements including entrance gates, balustrades, handrails, bin stores) but excluding boundary fencing and the washing down of low maintenance surfaces (e.g. PVC-u elements). Length of contract - The works duration is anticipated to be in the region of 30 weeks on site.

This involves the design and development for an 88 unit Extra-Care development and Dementia Resource Centre at the above site. The Contractor is to be responsible for the selection and appointment of all consultants needed to complete the design and construction of the Works. Hard-standing on site includes the access road to the Day Care Centre and parking spaces to the west and north of the building. There is a communal garden area located to the east of the building which is block paving. The existing building is surrounded by semi-natural woodland, there is a small garden plot in the north eastern corner of the site, small areas of improved grassland can be found to the north and west located between the hard-standing and wooded areas. Vehicular access to the site is via the access road, through the Beck Theatre. We anticipate the contract term to be circa 18 months. Receipt and processing of collected kerbside co-mingled recycling

The London Borough of Hillingdon (the Council) requires the provision of service to receive and sort co-mingled dry recycling collected by the Council. The service shall include provision for the transportation and delivery of the sorted material from its Household Refuse & Recycling Centre, facility located in the borough.The intention of the Council is to maximise the recovery of dry recycled materials to ensure the most financially advantageous position for the Council. The Supplier will need to handle the material in a sustainable manner and in accordance with the law for the provision of service to the Council. The Council collects co-mingled dry recyclables from the 88,000 street level properties each week using specially marked clear plastic sacks. This is the large majority of recycling collected. In addition to the street level service the Council collects co-mingled dry recycling from multiple occupancy developments, some larger commercial waste produces and schools using a bulk bin system. The recycling bins are clearly marked as being for co-mingled dry recycling. Based on current volumes, an indicative figure of 18,000 tonnes per annum of co-mingled kerbside dry recycling will require sorting at the MRF. The vast majority of this will be from the clear plastic sacks. A very small proportion, circa 50 tonnes each week will come from the 1,100 litre eurobins in' loose' form. Contract Start Date: 11 June 2017 The Contract will be for an initial term of 2 (two) years extendable at Hillingdon's sole option for a period of 1 (one), giving a total of 3 (three) years (the Term).
