DESCRIPTION OF SCOPE The Centre for Applied Marine Sciences (CAMS) at Bangor University wishes to purchase a total of 3 seabed mounting Acoustic Doppler Current Profilers (ADCP) and associated low profile mounting frames. The devices will add to and strengthen the current array of scientific coastal monitoring instruments used by the institute, offering the ability to measure (as a minimum) current speed, water elevation and current/wave interaction distributed over wide spatial areas of the energetic, yet shallow (<100m) coastal zone. trawl-resistant bottom mount frames remove the requirement for surface marker buoys and hence offer minimal impact to other activity in area. units must have both built redundancy of typical water column velocity bin measurements and offer the added functionality to monitor wave activity and turbulence. Associated processing software must be easily integrated and offer the ability to subsequently analyze and professionally present results from all parameters logged during deployment.
