INDUSTRIAL WATERS EXCELLENCY CENTER (IWEC):
- PROGRAMME MANAGER AND SPECIALISTS FOR WORKSHOPS.
Objective of the call
The objective of the call is to purchase consultancy services to plan and execute workshops related to agriculture and food and beverage industries in the frames of IWEC concept.
The initial program of the workshops is annexed to the Call. Tenderers are asked to nominate a Program Manager, comment and contribute to the initial program, and, upon approval of Kemira and LADEC, recruit experts to deliver the workshops.
A working group to steer the execution of the workshops is established. It consists of representatives of LADEC, Kemira and selected consultant (Program Manager).
LADEC, in close consultation with Kemira, is responsible for marketing of the workshops and organizing the venues and catering for them.
The Industrial Water Excellency Center IWEC (IWEC) is a joint initiative of Severstal, Kemira, Outotec and LADEC (Lahti Development Company Ltd) (Parties). It is implemented under the umbrella of Northern Dimension Business Council (NDBC), which is co-chaired by Mr. Alexey Mordashov, CEO of ОАО “Severstal”, and Mr. Tapio Kuula, CEO of Fortum.
The objective of IWEC is to present new water technologies and solutions to Russian industries reducing the environmental burden and, at the same time, providing better economic performance at lower costs. IWEC’s focus is water cycles in steel industry, mining, food and beverage, animal husbandry, fertilizer, oil and gas, power production, and forestry industries. Parties define jointly issues to be included in IWEC concept. They include, inter alia:
i. raw water and waste water treatment, energy efficiency
ii. treatment of process waters
iii. treatment of sludge
iv. chemicals to increase treatment efficiency
v. Russian legislation and compliance to systems
vi. best efficient and economically feasible technologies of waste water treatment.
vii. status of current technologies and amount of waste waters and manure in
animal husbandry (pigs, cattle, poultry) in North-West Russia
IWEC’s working method is to organize two days workshops for the technicians and decision makers of the industries in question. In 2013 the Parties have agreed to organize one (1) workshop for agricultural and one (1) for food and beverage industries. Based on results of these workshops, the program and target industries for 2014 will be decided by the end of December 2013. Workshops will be organized in Moscow, Saint Petersburg, or in other cities and regions of the Russian Federation.
