In order to achieve this we intend to award one medium term contract to a contractor who can demonstrate the experience, technical ability, qualitative and quantitative outputs and reliability coupled with cost effective pricing to provide delivery of Forest Management Operations within this area.

The Contract will be for a period of 2 years with the option of 2 x 1 year extensions. The uptake of these extensions will be at the sole discretion of the Forestry Commission.

Standing List of Contractors for Forestry and Agricultural Works

Gateshead Council is implementing a Standing List of Contractors for the purposes of selection for individual forestry and grounds maintenance works projects which are valued at less than the EU threshold.

 

Organisations wishing to be invited to tender for all future forestry and grounds maintenance work opportunities under the EU threshold with the Council must be included on the Standing List of Contractors and Sub-contractors. 

 

Organisations MUST also be Safety Schemes in Procurement (SSIP) registered either on application for inclusion on the list or at the latest within 2 months of the date of inclusion on the list. This is a requirement for inclusion on Lots 1 - 6. This is not a requirement for organisation who apply for inclusion on Lot 7 only.

 

The lots covered are;

2 - Rural Fencing - including timber and wire fencing

3 - Tree Work - including felling, thinning and planting
