Hull City Council invite qualified bidders to submit a quotation to implement a service improvement plan and change programme for the Hull City Council Educational Psychological Service.

The project should look to maximise the opportunities for Educational Psychologists to apply professional skills in a solution orientated manner at an individual casework, and school level and as a contributor to Local Authority strategic initiatives and the wider change agenda.

It should also enable the service to develop a wider business plan with a sound financial plan. It should support the service in developing the confidence and skills in leading on specialist and new areas of work. It should support the service in considering an appropriate structure and professional development programme to accompany it.

The three, key themes identified from the diagnostic consultation are:

1. Need to improve morale

2. Need to provide a clear direction

3. Need to improve perception regarding professional role (as Psychologist)

It is expected that the outputs from the programme will include:

  • A business and financial plan
  • Cultural transformation within the team
  • A service which is aspirational for itself and the people it works with
  • A service which can confidently discharge a solution orientated approach towards its statutory duties
  • An creative and responsive traded offer for schools
  • A service which make a wider contribution to the leadership of the Directorate

As the evidence base grows for the use of NPWT it is envisaged that there will be monitored growth of this technique within the Trust.
