Contract for the supply of negative pressure wound therapy systems and consumables

Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust | Published January 14, 2015  -  Deadline March 6, 2015
    cpvs
    33140000, 33100000

The supply and delivery of Negative Pressure Wound Therapy Systems, including pumps and associated consumables — to the Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust all in accordance with the specification details and/or attachments to the tender documentation. Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals Trust have been using Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT) in designated wards since circa 2005. The use of the technique has been monitored by our plastic surgery department although several specific wards have now built up a wealth of experience and competence i.e. vascular, colorectal cardio thoracic, orthopaedic and breast care. The Trust is based on 2 sites Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital and has a small specialised Tissue Viability nursing team. The development of a care pathway supports the use of NPWT but the expectation would be for the provider to compliment clinical support. It is predicted that the Trust will have spent approx. 175 000 GBP on NPWT which includes the hire of pumps and the purchase of consumables during this financial year. The consumables have been bought both direct from the incumbent supplier and NHS Supply Chain. As the evidence base grows for the use of NPWT it is envisaged that there will be monitored growth of this technique within the Trust.
