Nepal has received loans from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the European Investment Bank (EIB) towards the cost of the Tanahu Hydropower Project. Part of this financing will be used for payments under the contract named below. 2. Tanahu Hydropower Limited (THL) (“the Employer”) intends to prequalify firms for Package 1: Detailed Design and construction of Head Works (Contract No.: THL-PKG 1/2016) of Tanahu Hydropower Project. This contract will include: i. concrete gravity dam with spillway; ii. river diversion works, comprising two diversion tunnels and temporary cofferdams; iii. slope stabilisation/protection measures within the reservoir area; iv. 3 No. dam grouting galleries; v. access adit to upstream cofferdam; vi. access roads; vii. spoil disposal areas 3. This contract is expected to be implemented during the period 2017-2021. 4. Applicants will be prequalified on the basis of their ability to satisfy financial qualifying criteria and technical experience criteria as specified in the prequalification documents. 5.
