INTRODUCTION From 2010 to 2012, UNFPA, through its worldwide securing reproductive health supplies Programme (GPRHCS) conducted an annual survey on the availability and condition of stocks of contraceptives and drugs for maternal health in the country twelve round 1 of the last program as focused on three outcome indicators for monitoring and evaluation framework of GPRHCS program: a) service delivery points offering at least three modern contraceptive methods, b) availability of seven vital medicines for maternal / reproductive health on the list of WHO1 (magnesium sulfate, oxytocin and five) in all facilities providing delivery services and c) lack of inventory shortage means contraception in the last six months. From 2013, the survey was expanded to 46 countries including Mauritania and addressed other key issues, including the provision of family planning services. Besides the availability of reproductive health commodities and stock-outs, it will assess the supply chain (including cold chain), training and supervision of staff, the existence of guidelines and protocols, the use of information technology and communication, it will also seek the views of customers on services. The National Program for Reproductive Health (NRHP) with the Technical and Financial support from UNFPA office in Mauritania, organized the survey in 2013 and plans to carry it again in 2014 and is recruiting an office for this purpose specialized research in public health / reproductive health to lead this work.
