Newcastle City Council Adult Services Directorate, is seeking to procure the provision of specialist residential and short break services for people who have learning disabilities, autistic spectrum conditions, physical disabilities and mental health needs.
The Council seeks to ensure that vulnerable adults have a range of housing options to choose from, one of which is specialist residential care. We wish to develop a range of small residential services which meet the needs of service users in a high quality environment.
In 2014 The faculty of Engineering and Environment secured match funding from Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE), as part of its 200 000 000 GBP scheme to increase high-quality Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) students. The University will use the 6 700 000 GBP investment to create world-class teaching and research STEM facilities at its city campus, including new specialist laboratories and technology.
This is the second phase of the construction works centred around the conversion of 2 lecture theatres to Automotive laboratories and the refurbishment of existing labs. Works must commence in March 2016 and complete in September 2016.

Newcastle University invites bids to join a Dynamic Purchasing System it is establishing for the provision of a range of environmental sensor equipment for it's Urban Observatory project in the city. The Urban Observatory is a research project funded by Newcastle University as part of Science Central initiative. It seeks to understand how a city system functions and how different parameters interact. (E.g. heat island effect and green spaces, flooding and traffic congestion.) All the sensor data is open and available to the public via this portal (http://uoweb1.ncl.ac.uk/ )
