The Historic Environment Division. HED is currently preparing to initiate a procurement process to establish a contract for the provision of a Data Record Management Solution. As part of the preparation, Central Procurement Directorate (CPD) is running a Market Engagement on behalf of HED, and are inviting suitably qualified and experienced suppliers who may have an interest in this project to complete the attached questionnaire at Appendix A to assist HED gain a better understanding of the feasibility of their requirements, the most appropriate approach, the capacity of the market to deliver and any possible risks or issues that may not have previously been considered. Detailed and lengthy submissions are not necessary at this stage. Any information provided in response to this Market Engagement exercise marked as commercially sensitive will be treated as such.

The tuberculosis laboratory within the Bacteriology Branch of the Veterinary Sciences Division is an integral part of the Agri-Food and Biosciences Institute AFBI. AFBI was created on 1st April 2006 as an amalgamation of the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs DAERA Science Service and the Agricultural Research Institute of Northern Ireland ARINI. AFBI is a DARD Non-Departmental Public Body NDPB. The laboratory carries out a statutory function in relation to bovine tuberculosis, which is integral to the DAERA’s field tuberculosis eradication programme. The laboratory is now seeking tenders for the supply and delivery of Lowenstein Jensen and Stonebrinks media slopes for the isolation of Mycobacterium bovis.

The E-ILM project aims to increase the number of long term unemployed (defined as unemployed for more than 12 months) and economically inactive moving into employment through increasing skills levels, attaining accredited qualifications and gaining practical work experience. It will target those who are classified as ‘job ready’ as it relates to this project. This could include those who have had basic skills training to prepare them for the world of work. It also offers the opportunity to improve the physical environment in the North Belfast SOAs eligible for SIF funding, improve local knowledge on energy efficiency measures and available schemes and therefore reduce the effects of fuel poverty as well as build local pride and improve the local image. The E-ILM project will target owner occupied and privately rented homes in relation to energy efficiency/home improvement measures proposed for the project.

Translink, comprising Ulsterbus Limited and Citybus Limited, provide all public transport bus services in Northern Ireland and also operate into RoI, GB and Europe. The fleet currently totals c. 1284 vehicles. Services include stage carriage, school transport, interurban express, city services and tours. There is a unionised environment operating in 26 main depots throughout Northern Ireland ranging in size from 1 staff to 264 staff with a central maintenance facility in Belfast with 106 staff. NI Railways currently operates 43 local trains with 913 operating staff providing services on four main routes from Londonderry, Larne, Bangor and Newry terminating in central Belfast, along with a cross border service to Dublin in conjunction with Irish Rail. 239 NI Railways staff undertake fleet maintenance in two locations. Current issue cycle frequencies are 12 months for corporate footwear.
