The aim is the introduction of the primary separation of recyclable municipal waste. Introducing primary separation will decrease the amount of waste going to landfill and thereby contribute to the improvement of the environment. Project Measures: The Serbian energy sector is subject to crucial reforms and transformation with particular priority given to renewable energy. The National Renewable Energy Action Plan (NREAP) was adopted in June 2013 and provides for significant increase of the share of renewable ener-gies in the electricity, heating and cooling sector.

Germany has been providing financial support to the district heating sector since 2001. Its latest ‘Promotion of Renewable Energies: Developing the Biomass Market in Serbia’ (Pro-gram) was launched to facilitate a switch from fossil fuel to more environment friendly solutions. In the course of the Program and foreseeable future up to 15 DHCs may join the Program. The planned project measures comprise main in-vestments (boilers, heat pumps, secondary equipment, civil works), complementary investment measures, training and overall consulting services. The Program is co-financed by the Swiss Secretariat for Economic Cooperation (SECO).

GENERAL PROCUREMENT NOTICE EPS has received for a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and European Investment Bank (EIB) towards the cost of modernising the electricity distribution infrastructure in Serbia to enable Elektroprivreda Srbije (“EPS”) to reduce losses, improve the quality and reliability of supply, and improve energy efficiency. The project has a total estimated cost of Euro 80 million, of which 40 million EUR is intended to be financed by the EBRD, and 40 million EUR by the European Investment Bank (EIB). The project will require the procurement of the following goods, works and services: · IT infrastructure and security (hardware, software), concentrators, metering equipment for MV and LV customers, installation and integration of IT environment · On-site installation of metering devices, MV and LV Tendering for the above-mentioned Contracts is expected to commence in the 4th quarter of 2014. Contracts to be financed with the proceeds of a loan from the Bank will be subject to the Bank's Procurement Policies and Rules and will be open to firms from any country. The proceeds of the Bank's loan will not be used for the purpose of any payment to persons or entities, for any import of goods, if such payment or import is prohibited by a decision of the United Nations Security Council taken under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations or under a law of official regulation of the Purchaser's country.
