CROW is the client for the OV customer barometer. The purpose of this research is to show what travelers' opinions pertain to relevant quality aspects throughout the Dutch public transport (bus, tram, metro, train and OV over water). This enables OV authorities and the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment to develop and evaluate public transport policies.
To this end, Dutch public transport is divided into research areas that largely correspond to the concessions. The results must be comparable and nationally comparable.
In addition to governments, other stakeholders (transport companies, consumer organizations) can also use the results. The current contract for the implementation of the OV customer barometer expires in 2017.
