Latheron, Lybster and Clyth Community Development Company (LLCCDC) is a company limited by guarantee based in Lybster dedicated to work closely with the local community to identify and meet local needs. Supported by the Innovation and Infrastructure fund (IFF) of the Community and Renewables Energy Scheme (CARES), LLCCDC is seeking tenders for the provision of a feasibility study. The feasibility study will assess the technical and economic factors relating to a woodchip drying facility and a local microgrid in Lybster. A pre-feasibility study completed by Community Energy Scotland (CES) identified use of a woodchip drying facility and microgrid as a potential solution to overcome transmission constraints affecting the development of the community-owned wind scheme in Caithness. The scope of the tendered work is the complete feasibility of the woodchip drying and microgrid system. The successful applicant will have access to the options study and must provide information and analysis that clearly builds on the work carried out by CES.
