:Delivery and installation of 2 hydro turbine packages in Andenne. Since 1950's EDF Luminus operates a cascade of 6 low head, run-off river hydro power plants along the river Meuse in Belgium. EDF Luminus would like to upgrade one of those, Andenne, in operation since 1980. Plant is currently equipped with 3 horizontal axis Straflo units and 3.55m-diameter axial propeller runner. Capacity is 3,05 MWe per unit, under a maximum gross head of 5,35m and a flow of 75 m³/s. Scope of work is : replacement of 2 (optional 3) units (turbine and generator) within the existing infrastructure, modifications to this infrastructure to be kept as reasonable as possible. New units of a standard well-proven design should be rated with an output of min 2 MWe, under max head, and be able to operate with a minimum flow of 15 m³/s. They shall have a good flat efficiency curve all over the flow range. All configurations and runner type can be considered, as far as the needed civil works modifications do not compromise power plant general stability. Smaller runner diameter, with lower max flow, will be accepted. Scope will include: design, supply, site erection and commissioning of the whole electro-mechanical package, with anchoring parts, turbine governor, generator with excitation cabinet and cooling, lube oil system, common or separate for turbine and generator, instrumentation and control cabinet. Dismantling of existing units is part of the work. Civil work, including detailed study is not part of the scope (but can be proposed as an option), however anchoring of units will be performed under the supervision of the turbine manufacturer. Screens, stop logs and drainage system of the plant will remain unchanged.

Scope of works is replacement of two (optional 4) units (turbine & generator) within the existing civil works to be modified in a reasonable way. New units of a standard well proved design should be rated minimum 3,5 MWe under max head, and be able to operate at partial load with a minimum flow of 25 m3/sec (or less if possible). They should have a good flat efficiency curve all over the flow range. All configurations and runner type can be considered, as far as the needed civil works modification does not compromise power plant general stability. Smaller runner diameter, with lower maximum flow, will be accepted.
