The Soreq Nuclear Research Center is an entity of the Israeli Atomic Energy Commission (IAEC), and is located in Yavne, Israel.

Under the terms of this agreement, the CEA is in charge of the design, construction and assembly until the on-site commissioning of the systems and batches of equipment that make up this accelerator.

For this purpose, the CEA must acquire a certain number of equipment and systems, for testing at its premises and then for transfer to Israel for assembly and acceptance tests.

At the end of its construction, by 2020, this project of proton accelerator and deuton has for sole purpose the academic research and the production of radioelements for all the Israeli hospitals.

The minimum volume of niobium is approximately 1,450 kg and the maximum volume is 2,402 kg.

The Engineering Laboratory surfaces and Lasers (LISL) of the CEA is developing surface treatment processes using lasers with or without adding material. Of these, laser additive manufacturing (LAM), or coating by laser projection to the surface modifying properties has become one of the areas of the most important laboratory studies. To cope with this growing demand, the LISL wish to purchase a new laser projection machine (also called Directed Energy Metal Deposition or metal deposition system by laser fusion) for components of large dimensions. The system must be able to work under a comprehensive protective gas argon or nitrogen. The power of the high optical quality laser source must be at least 4 kW. Different geometries must be built with at least five axes of motion. A computer-aided manufacturing software connected to the machine must be used to generate complex 3D trajectories. The machine will be used for research, development and manufacture of innovative components in various existing materials, particularly high temperature and / or refractory and oxidation-sensitive materials materials. It is also used for repair projects coating for laser projection surface modification or additive manufacturing. The system will be installed on the CEA / Saclay site.
