The Farsta district heating plant was built in the late fifties and is today serving as a peak load plant. Fortum plans to replace the existing boilers in the plant with one new oil fired boiler, HOB. The new boiler will be fired with light fuel oil no.1 (EO1). It shall also be designed for the possibility of firing Bio oil RME in the future. The boiler shall be directly connected to the district heating system. An economizer is not foreseen. Circulation through the boiler for the purpose of minimum flow and inlet water temperature shall be made with a separate circulation pump. The boiler is expected to be directly fired, without a flue gas fan. Combustion air shall be a mixture of indoor and outdoor air. No flue gas filter is foreseen initially.
The thermal rating is 95 MW fuel input. District heating temperature to the plant around 60°C and from the plant 115°C. Design data for mechanical design is Water side: 16 Bar(g)/120°C. The mechanical design needs to be selected such that the equipment is fitted in the available space in the existing building.
The dimensions of the available space are: With: 9,6 meters, Height: 14,6 meters, Length: 15,7 meters.
The boiler and flue gas fans shall be located within the available space.
The boiler will be installed during the first half of 2018.
Mälarenergi AB is planning to invest in a new combined heat and power (CHP) plant with auxiliary systems and to modernise the existing plant in Västerås. The Project consists of 4 main parts: A steam boiler of 150 — 180 MWth for combustion of recycled wood fuel, a district heating condensing steam turbine of about 55 — 65 MWe, a flue gas treatment system and a fuel handling system including preparation and storage to supply the boiler with solid fuel. This procurement (Dnr 2016/41) relates to the purchase of one steam boiler of 150 — 180 MWth with steam parameters 91 bar(a) and 520°C including auxiliary systems. The fuel shall be recycled wood, i.e. wood waste (used wood) including demolition wood.
This pre-qualification is for a turnkey contract that consists of Engineering of an upgrade on an existing DCS system for the Boiler P6 at Högdalenverket in Stockholm, Sweden.
Scope:
— The main purpose with this upgrade is to secure the production for a long time a head, including such as uptime and MTBF etc.;
— The new control system should be built in ABB 800xA;
— Distributed I/O should replace existing small CPU, where possible;
— Existing HMI should be replaced with a modern ABB800xA system;
— All existing communication should be upgraded to a redundant system;
— Simocodes in the switchgears shall be upgraded with modern simocodes;
— Investigate and replace obsolete instruments, or if needed for some other reasons;
— Investigate if the security system should be upgraded from todays 1 out of 2 system to a new modern 2 out of 3 system. All signals concerning security should be implemented in a security PLC, based on a HAZOP and a SIL-study.
