Misicuni Renewable Energy Hydroelectric Project The Misicuni Renewable Energy Hydroelectric Project (PHM) is part of the Misicuni Multiple Project. The project aims at harnessing water resources from the Misicuni Dam (under construction), which will be transported through a 20 Km tunnel (already completed) and provide a mean annual flow estimated at 3.2- cubic meter per second (m3/seg). The PHM includes: (i) extension of the 700-meters (m) of the existing tunnel, (ii) a penstock of 1.6-m-diameter and 3,800 m in length, (iii) a 80-megawatts (MW) hydroelectric power plant (iv) a 7-hectares reservoir located next to the power plant, and (v) substation and high voltage transmission line. From this reservoir, 2-m3/seg will be derivate to a water treatment plant and 1-m3/seg will be used for irrigation to serve about 2,600 ha of farmland. The power plant will provide annually 217-gigawatts/hora (GWh) of energy. The loan is executed by the National Electricity Company (ENDE).
