Yerevan Street Lighting Project

This is an update of the original notice published on the Bank’s website on 18.09.2015.

The City of Yerevan intends using the proceeds of a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (“EBRD” or “the Bank”) and the Eastern Europe Energy Efficiency and Environment Partnership (“E5P”) for a project to modernise the street lighting system in 28 selected streets in the City of Yerevan by introducing new energy efficient technologies. The proposed project, which has a total estimated cost of EUR 6 million equivalent, will require the procurement of the following goods, works and services:

  • LED street lighting system (luminaries, control & monitoring centre, pole and cable replacement)
     

Tendering for the above contracts is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2017.

Contracts to be financed with the proceeds of a loan fromthe Bank and the E5P grant will be subject to the EBRD Procurement Policies and Rules and will be open to firms from any country. The proceeds of the Bank's loan will not be used for the purpose of any payment to persons or entities, of for any import of goods, if such payment or import is prohibited by a decision of the United Nations Security Council taken under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations or under a law of official regulation of the Purchaser's country.

The Republic of Armenia received a grant from Scaling-up Renewable Energy Program(SREP) under Climate Investment Fund umbrella, and intends to apply part of the proceeds on consulting services for supporting with preparation of bidding documents forexploratory drilling. The main objective of this assignment is to prepare the technical specifications ofthe bidding documents for the slim wells, as well as provide other technical input to the procurement process asrequired. The geothermal expert with international experience will have the following main responsibilities: Task 1: Prepare all the technical inputs for the bidding documents for drilling oftwo slim wells.
