Under the Powering Queensland Plan, the Queensland Government, through the Department of Energy and Water Supply (the Department) is conducting a competitive process (the Process) for up to 400 megawatts of renewable energy capacity, including 100 megawatts of energy storage.

The Process will consider the benefits to Queensland associated with additional grid-connected renewable energy generation and energy storage projects, including the cost of energy supply, the system security impacts of any new projects and support for local businesses and employment.
The Process will consider all grid-connected renewable energy generation sources defined as eligible renewable energy sources in the Renewable Energy (Electricity) Act 2000. Further, grid-connected energy storage projects, either integrated with renewable energy generation or standalone, are also considered.
The Department invites interested parties to submit responses to the Invitation for EOI by no later than 2pm Monday 25 September 2017 AEST on QTenders.
Respondents are encouraged to submit their EOI responses with sufficient time to ensure submission is completed prior to the 2pm deadline.
