Tender 170/MVT - The supply delivery and commissioning of an Electron Beam Welding (EBW) facility which will be delivered and commissioned by 14.12.2012 at the latest.
Your attention is drawn to the maximum budget for this procurement which is ? 662.000. Any tenders in excess of this value will be rejected.
Due to budgetary constraints, the University is interested in proposals for reconditioned/ refurbished equipment, or ex-demonstration equipment if it is available. Please clearly mark any offers as such including warranties and guarantees offered with this equipment. Should you offer reconditioned equipment, we would be interested in knowing its history, including service history.
You may submit quotes for both new and used equipment within your return.
The equipment shall be capable of performing linear, circumferential and non-axi-symmetrical, deep penetration welds.
The equipment shall be capable of welding in a vacuum range between 10 to 2 mbar and at least 10 to 3 mbar.
The size of the vacuum chamber shall be about 2.5 m³.
The power output of the electron gun shall be capable of welding steel upto 150 mm thick in a single run.
Jig and fixturing concepts which allow the welding of longitudinal, radial and axial welding seams shall be provided.
The EBW facility shall allow the welding of the following materials:
quenched and tempered alloy steels
ferritic and austenitic stainless steels
nickel based alloys
zirconium based alloys
The Supplier should offer a turnkey solution that involves the procurement, installation, commissioning and performance needs necessary to meet the requirements defined by the Purchaser.
The EBW facility shall comprise, but not be limited to, the following elements:
Electron Beam Power Source
Beam Delivery System
Electron Beam gun
Electron Beam gun slider
CNC software control
The Supplier of the welding system will act as the systems integrator where necessary for products outside their portfolio. Such products / components required to fulfil the machines capability will be the responsibility of the systems integrator, with a full listing of such details being made available to the Purchaser.

Completed tenders must be returned through the same e-tendering system.
