The University requires an acoustic camera which utilises an array of microphones and an optical camera to identify and locate sound in 2D and 3D spaces in a remote and non-contact manner by overlaying the audible source location on still or video images of the object. The system will be located within the Cardiff University Structural Performance (CUSP) Laboratory in the School of Engineering. This system will be primarily used to research in audible damage detection and sound analysis of electrical transformers.
A Dielectric Thin film vacuum deposition system.
This is a multi-technique system to deposit thin films of materials such as SiO2, SiN, HfO etc onto semiconductor and dielectric substrates, often Si, GaAs or sapphire and typically 500um thick and 4” diameter but of varying sizes. The deposition takes place within a vacuum environment. The purpose of these films will be as optical coatings, electrical insulators, mechanical layers and as mask layers amongst other uses. The rotating holder for the substrates should allow sequential deposition of layers as well as improving uniformity depending on the requirements.
Multi Disciplinary Design Team (MDD) — Maths and Computer Sciences
The University intends to co-locate the Schools of Mathematics and Computer Science and Informatics in a purpose-built facility (the ‘Project’).
The University seeks to procure a suitably qualified MDD to provides the following services in relation to the Project.
Architectural Services (including CDM 2015 Principal Designer role, Lead Designer, Mechanical and Electrical Services Engineer, Civil and Structural Engineer).
Further information is set out below and in a tender pack which is available to download (see section VI.3 for details).
NWSSP on behalf of Cardiff and Vale NHS University Local Health Board uLHB purchases the Maintenance of Internal Pager Bleeper Systems on behalf of Corporate Services in the University Hospital of Wales. The current products were purchased out of capital monies many years ago. These were purchased from Multitone. The usage of these has reduced greatly but there is still a requirement for those still in use to be maintained. Any change of supplier currently would necessitate the purchase of new pagers and incur a cost implication which in the current climate the Health Board are not able to undertake. Based on this whilst they review the future requirements they wish to put a contract in for three years on an annual basis whilst the requirement for this contract is reviewed.
The requirements under the maintenance include:
Repair of electrical faults due to fair wear and tear;
Repair of electrical faults due to light impact;
Replace plastic case parts;
Average repair time (5 working days);
Average repair time (3 working days);
Average repair time (2 working days);
Technical response within 16 working hours;
Technical response within 8 working hours;
Technical response within 4 working hours;
Includes the labour costs;
Includes the material costs;
Preventative maintenance visits;
The above on site response is based on a 5-day week 09:00 to 17:00 (excluding Statutory holidays).
Upgrades are available.
Monday-Sunday 24 hours.
