Development at St. John's Lane West, Dublin 8

New 6 floor over basement 31 unit residential development at Johns Lane West, Dublin 8. The residential development will have a BER A3 rating, approximate gross internal floor area of 2,700m² and GSA of approximately 4,300m²
The development will consist of 31 apartments and include for the loose furniture fittings and equipment fit-out of these apartments. Apartments will be a mix of 1, 2 and 3 bed with access to internal landscaped courtyards, roof gardens, children's play areas and individual external balconies. The final design intent is to have an A3 BER rating of the development and there will be a number of sustainability measures incorporated into the design to achieve this.
The structure of the development will be an RC concrete basement and podium slab with the upper floors of the development being constructed in a mix of RC/steelwork frame with pre-cast concrete floor and roof slabs.
The project will be built on a brown-field site which has been cleared as part of an enabling works contract completed in late 2016. There are archaeological planning conditions attached to the planning which will necessitate monitoring of the groundworks by a DCC approved archaeologist. These works will require attendances to be provided by the main contractor.
The project is located and to be constructed on a severely sloped site in the city centre and adjacent to a number of occupied buildings. The final construction will share a party wall with an adjoining occupied office building.
The mechanical and electrical installations will include sustainability measures such as PV solar energy systems, LED lighting and SUDS measures. There will be a green roof design to the main roof and some of the internal landscaped courtyards to comply with planning conditions.
It is the intention of the contracting authority that speciailsts sub-contracts will be required for the glazing, stone cladding, mechanical, electrical, and lift installations.

Rolling Stock Coupler Systems Overhaul

Iarnród Éireann (IÉ) are seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced companies to participate in a tender process for the overhaul of rolling stock automatic and inter-car train coupling systems.
IÉ have a requirement to overhaul in the region of 130 automatic coupling systems between 2017 and 2019; and 340 inter-car coupling systems between 2017 and 2019.
The automatic coupling systems are manufactured by Voith Turbo Scharfenberg GmbH (Part No. Scharfenberg 1.330.204) and are in the region of between 6 to 9 years in passenger service.
The inter-car ‘semi-permanent’ coupling systems are manufactured by Voith Turbo Scharfenberg GmbH (Part No. 2.330.205) and are in the region of between 6 to 9 years in passenger service.
Companies will have a demonstrable record in undertaking mechanical and electrical maintenance on Scharfenberg type automatic train coupling devices and inter-car ‘semi-permanent’ coupling systems.
Companies will also have a fully auditable supply chain for sourcing replacement parts of a safety critical nature.

Qualification System - Electric Ireland Smarter Living

Electric Ireland’s Energy Services division will continue to develop new innovative
product and service offerings to deliver to Customers. To do this the team will take
two approaches:
1. Electric Ireland or one of its agents will engage with firms / parties with
innovative products and service offerings that Electric Ireland would work with to
modify and/or customize to meet the needs of the Irish market.  The purpose of
Electric Ireland engaging with such firms / parties will be to trial the product or
service in an end user environment in order to prove all aspects of the proposition
and/or to establish the most appropriate way to deliver such a product or service.
This may include adding it to, or integrating it with other offerings to provide it as
part of Electric Irelands overall product or service offering, which may be fully
branded as an Electric Ireland product or service.
2. Electric Ireland will continue to engage with firms / parties who can provide
proven Smart products and services, which are already fully developed, tested
and proven propositions and are already being offered to market.
This notice addresses the first of the two approaches described above and
therefore Electric Ireland is seeking expressions of interest from firms / parties of
products and services which can support our Smarter Living innovation
developments. In order to qualify for consideration for this programme, Electric
Ireland has chosen to use Supply-Line the Qualification System
operated by Achilles for vendor management of the parties interested in being
