The Network and Collaboration Services Section is responsible for the design, construction, operation and maintenance of the University’s cabling infrastructure to support voice and data services.
The purpose of this document is to obtain the information needed to appoint either one or two cable installation contracting companies with the appropriate skills, qualifications and services to provide telecommunications cabling installation services to Griffith University.
The objective of the arrangement is to partner with Contractor/s who can demonstrate their ability to deliver the highest industry standards for the supply of equipment and services while maintaining strict Work Place Health and Safety Practices. It is also required that associated Queensland Building and Fire Standards and the University’s Telecommunications Cabling network requirements are maintained, whilst offering value for money. Due to the growth of the University at the Gold Coast, it is required that companies provide the same level of response and standard of work across all campuses at Gold Coast, Logan and Brisbane. Griffith’s five campuses are located in Brisbane City (Queensland Conservatorium of Music, Griffith University, Queensland College of Art and Griffith University Film School); outer Brisbane area (Mt Gravatt and Nathan); Logan City and Parklands on the Gold Coast
The supply of fluidised thermal backfill and other associated products such as lean mix, aggregate, fine dry sand and dry mix are required to support the Energex Program of Work for Field Services, Underground and Overhead Transmission.
Fluidised thermal fill and related products serve as backfill medium for 33kV and 110kV underground cables by producing a solid surround while delivering desirable thermal resistivity, ensuring maximum life and higher rating of the cable. Fine dry bedding sand and dry mix are used for pole foundations.
Energex’s distribution area is in South East Queensland and extends from the City of Brisbane, north to Tin Can Bay, west to Toowoomba and south to the NSW/Qld border. The bulk of work requiring fluidised thermal backfill and related products is in the greater Brisbane area, however an increasing amount of development work is occurring throughout the remainder of the distribution area.
The Supplier shall allow for the design, manufacture, testing, supply and delivery of fluidised thermal backfill and related products anywhere within the Energex distribution area. The Supplier must be capable of providing the goods twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
10369 LV ABC & XLPE Service Cable Equipment & Fittings
Energex requires the manufacture, testing, supply and delivery of low voltage aerial bundled cable (LV ABC) and XLPE service cable fittings, mechanical fittings for 95mm sq LV ABC, and insulation piercing connectors for use with LV ABC, PVC insulated cabled and bare aluminium and copper conductors, as used in Energex’s overhead electricity distribution network.
10397 - Electricity Supply Pillars, Insulating Shrouds and Cable Pits & Industrial LV Service Pillar
10397 will secure the supply of Electricity Supply Pillars, Insulating Shrouds and Cable Pits & Industrial LV Service Pillars. Electricity Supply Pillars, Insulating Shrouds and Cable Pits are required to build and maintain parts of the Energex Electricity Network. Energex requires Industrial LV Service Pillars for use within Commercial and Industrial Substations of the Energex Distribution Network.
The Sunshine Coast Council is facilitating a new international submarine cable landing to South East Queensland by 2020 which will stimulate local business, generate new investment and improve telecommunications diversity to the East Coast of Australia.
Council is conducting a market sounding exercise to inform the project: the submarine cable (wet and dry), the cable landing station and the backhaul connectivity to understand the level of interest and investment in supplying the solution.
This is not a call for tenders or a pre-qualification exercise. It is a market sounding exercise to provide advanced information of requirements and open a dialogue with the market.
