The intention is to enter into a contract with 1, alternatively 2, tenderers who, themselves, or together can offer the Norwegian Parliament internet lines via fibre. The Norwegian Parliament would like to be connected to the internet via two separate fibre lines. By separate we mean two lines that go in different cable trays that end up in 2 different routers that get their power from 2 different transformers. In this way the Norwegian Parliament is ensured an internet connection even if 1 of the lines goes down. The Norwegian Parliament is currently connected to the internet via 2 ‘peering partners’. The external DNS for the domain ‘stortinget.no’ is administered by one of the contract partners. We also envisage this for the future. The contracts that will ensure the Norwegian Parliament's internet connection will have different start-up dates, approx. mid February 2017 and the beginning and April 2018 respectively.
In addition to 2 fibre lines into the Norwegian Parliament, we would also like the procurement to include ‘black fibre’ between the parliament building and Stortingsgaten 6. For further information on the technical requirements, start-up date etc., see the tender documentation's requirement specifications.
