Project 202 (A9054P) – Tank Integration Interim Facilities aims to deliver suitable and timely interim facilities to enable the incorporation of tank squadrons into the Armoured Cavalry Regiments.  

At Lavarack Barracks, Townsville, the project will deliver a stand-alone Squadron Headquarters, upgrades to an existing ablutions block (ambulant and disabled ablution facilities), a stand-alone weapons storage facility, electrical services upgrades to an existing vehicle shelter, bollards to an existing vehicle shelter, secure storage enclosures to an existing vehicle shelter, and external works, services and landscaping.

At Edinburgh Defence Precinct, Adelaide, the project will deliver a new Squadron Headquarters with ablutions, car parking and landscaping, electrical services upgrades to an existing vehicle shelter and the extension of an existing weapons storage facility within an existing building.

The Department of Defence requires the services of suitably trained and experienced personnel or an engineering firm to develop Hazardous Area classifications following a survey for Hazardous Areas (explosive atmospheres) at RAAF Base Edinburgh. This is the first stage of the rectification process, with subsequent rectification actions (such as electrical equipment inspection, maintenance, replacement etc.) dependent on the classification. The classification of each Hazardous Area will include reference to a specific occupancy classification in accordance with AS/NZS 60079. As a minimum, the classification shall be inclusive of a report, classification datasheet and CAD drawings illustrating the extent of the Hazardous Area zones.
