Midlothian Council is looking for expressions of interest from organisations interested in running 2 of Midlothian’s temporary accommodation units for those people who are homeless as well as delivering tenancy support services. Interest is sought from suitably experienced organisations skilled in working with people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. The organisation is required to develop close links with other services to provide a holistic package of support in order to ensure positive outcomes are achieved and sustained. The service should also ensure that the client’s safety is central to service delivery and complies with the care inspectorate registration and inspection requirements. Midlothian Council is seeking to deliver the following objectives across both services -To prevent homelessness and repeat homelessness. -To deliver an enabling model of service to support people to develop their independent living skills in order to maintain and sustain stable accommodation. -To work in a co-ordinated multi-agency way with other services. -To improve the quality of life of service users. -To ensure all service users are undertaking meaningful activities including accessing education and training. -To maximise the number of people in employment and gaining skills to prepare them for employment. -To improve service users’ health and wellbeing. It is expected that the organisation will have specific experience and tailored approaches of working with young people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless, including care experienced young people. The organisation is also expected to be able to deliver specialist welfare rights support and advice.
