1. Background:

1.1. The Faculty of Education is the School of Education located in part of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Cambridge. Established in 2001, the School is a leading provider of undergraduate and postgraduate study in education.

1.2. The Faculty is located in private grounds off Hills Road, Cambridge. There are up to 150 staff and 500 students on-site.

1.3. The Café is in the Donald McIntyre Building (DMB) in the central communal area. It provides cafeteria facilities to the Faculty members, staff and visitors 5 days a week; it has its own production kitchen and storage facilities. The Café provides a range of snacks and hot food, including sandwiches, hot soup, jacket potatoes and at least 1 hot meal with vegetables each day. There is also a wide range of coffees and teas available as well as cold drinks and confectionery.

1.4. This is a concession style contract with a minimal fixed payment and a concession based on % of sales.

Contracts will be awarded in the main for the period of three (3) years with an option to extend for a further twelve (12) months. Indicative Tenders for admission to the DPS can be completed for evaluation at any time throughout the duration of the DPS. However, Potential Providers who are not already on the DPS but wish to tender for any of the approximate 200 routes commencing in September 2015 must complete an Indicative Tender on the LGSS Due North Procurement Portal system no later than 12:00 noon on Monday 20.4.2015. A further competition for these routes will be conducted via an e-auction. Each route will be awarded as an individual contract.

Cambridgeshire County Council provides education for children and young people with Statements of Special Educational Needs (SSEN) / Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP) between the ages of 0 – 25 years. There are approximately 3,300 Cambridgeshire children and young people with a SSEN/EHCP. The Authority has received up to 90 appeals per year. The number of appeals have consistently increased over the past 5 years. All cases [75] reach stage 1, approximately 50% proceed to stage 2 [38], and 25% proceed to stage 3 [10]. This procurement aims to award a number of framework agreements for the provision of IT Infrastructure as a Service. The procurement is being run on behalf the European Research and Education Sector and includes the National Research and Education entities in each country and the entities which receive network services from them (10 000 institutions with over 50 000 000 users). DANTE is the coordinating partner for the AfricaConnect project, in-charge of procurement,  agreeing contract terms and project management. Goods and services procured under the project will therefore have DANTE as the contracting party, with ownership of goods and any on-going contractual commitments for services transferring to the Ubuntunet Alliance at the end of the project. The Ubuntunet Alliance will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the network to be procured, and therefore will interface directly with the winning Tenderer(s) during the life of the entire project.  For the purposes of this document, references to THE CUSTOMER within the context of operational and implementation matters will mean DANTE or any authorised partners (eg, the Ubuntunet Alliance).
