NABC Training
Business Finland Oy | Published February 21, 2018 - Deadline March 7, 2018
The purpose of this procurement is to procure pitch training on value creation by using the NABC-model or equivalent method and offer projects funded through Business Finland Programs a short, approximately one-day introduction to implementing the NABC-model and communicating value creation. The training will help participants apply NABC-thinking in their innovation work. The training will help participants formulate a clear and short presentation, a sales speak, of their innovation, valuable when communicating with potential customers, investors and other stakeholders. The NABC-model created by SRI International assesses the market need (N), the approach (A) to solve this need, benefits (B) of the created solution and the competition (C). It is used to give balance to innovation work and to guide innovation work towards commercial success. The training aims to clarify participants own value proposition - first to themselves, and then to their clients. Business Finland Programs are forums for the exchange of information and networking between businesses and research groups in a certain topic. The service and the scope The purpose is to procure one trainer who can offer a training service defined in this invitation to tender. The training will be arranged in Finland, in Helsinki, if not otherwise agreed. Trained teams consist of project teams from research organizations and small and medium sized companies which are participating Business Finland Programs. Each Programme using the service will choose the teams and coordinate invitations and registration. Each invited project can send a team of 2-5 people for the training. The length of the actual face-to-face training with the trainer should be approximately one workday. Preferably there will be a few teams at a time, depending on training methods used. Depending on the method used, training may include homework before and/or after the actual training. Schedule of training will be agreed upon with the trainer. Preferably 3-4 training days will be arranged in a row. Business Finland will arrange and pay for the training facilities and catering. The content of the training The training language is English. The training must give a brief introduction on the NABC-model or equivalent and include interactive exercises for the participants. As an outcome of the training each team: - understands the basics of value creation according to the NABC-model or equivalent - has prepared a powerpoint slide (“one-slider”) presenting their innovation with the NABC model or equivalent - is able to present a 2-3 minute pitch talk in English, describing their innovation’s value creation using the NABC-model or equivalent The slides can be used by the trainees themselves but also by Business Finland in public presentation material, on Business Finland websites and in other ways when communicating innovations funded by Business Finland. The first teams will be trained during February-April 2018. In general the training volume will be agreed upon at least three months in advance with the service supplier. A non-binding estimate of the volume of the training needed during the contract period is 50-60 project teams. Costs of the training The tenderer must give a price per trained team, all costs included. Into to the price the tenderer must include all costs related to the training, i.e. travelling costs and possible other costs. The training day facilities and catering costs will not be included in the price because Business Finland will arrange training facilities and catering. The supplier will charge for their services in arrears based on the work completed, and the invoices must be carefully itemised as regards any work carried out. The tenderer can offer a 1-2 person team for the assignment.
