The project scope relates to the decrease IT infrastructure including management as a service. Quality and flexibility are seen as important condition. Given the direction in which IT in general, and true for Galileo, in particular, makes the preference is given to an IT service, which does not have, by definition, focus on the teaching. Availability of the IT environment first, knowledge of education is secondary. The management of network (LAN, WLAN and WAN) is not part of this tender. This component will be carried out by a specialized service provider. The above premise requires a service that facilitates managing the IT infrastructure and links with external (cloud) systems. By the IT service provider managed environment should above all be flexible and future developments do not interfere. The differences between the schools should be supported by the IT service provider. The services concerned outline: ⋅ Providing an infrastructure from an external data center (servers, data storage, etc.). ⋅ The technical management of workplaces. Galileo himself will continue to determine the functional interpretation and wishes here in a large degree of freedom between the schools. Because of the rise of BYOD and cloud computing, this is also justified. In addition, the IT infrastructure must be flexible, in the sense that not only can quickly respond to new developments there but also the differences between schools are possible. Galileo will retain ownership of all sub components (workstations, smart boards, printers, etc.).
