Forth Environment Link (FEL) has a project that has been running since 2012 called Grow Forth - a local food network for the Forth Valley area. Grow Forth received CCF funding for a 'Get Ready for Local Food' project in April 2015. This project is now in its’ final two months of delivery, evaluation and future planning.
As part of the final phase of Get Ready for Local project delivery, FEL would like to engage the services of a consultant who will evaluate the project to date; will set the context for future delivery and development; and will make recommendations for the next phase of work. Provision of advice and support on waste prevention opportunities for the construction and food and drink sectors. A total of four Lots are offered.

Provision of a free advice and support service for SMEs operating in the Scottish food and drink sector. The service will offer one-to-one consultancy and training support to help eligible businesses identify food and drink waste prevention opportunities and implement recommended equipment and processes to realise waste savings. This may be through delivery of food waste audits, implementation support, training and the development of case studies and other good practice guidance documents. The service will operate for a period to end March 2018, although continuation beyond March 2017 is subject to continued funding and satisfactory performance.

Provision of in-depth support packages to a minimum of 10 bakery business in Scotland, in order to identify opportunities to prevent food waste, identify food waste hotspots within the sector, and implement innovative technology solutions. This will include delivery of in-depth audits and implementation support, as well as development of good practice guidance documents and a sector report for feedback to the industry. The service is proposed for a six month period only, concluding in March 2017.

Provision of in-depth support to at least five (5) SME breweries to identify key hotspots in the sector to prevent food and drink waste, thereby streamlining the efficiency of the manufacturing process and providing improved cost margins for the manufacturer. This will be delivered through in-depth audits and implementation support, as well as the development of good practice guidance documents and a sector report for feedback to the industry. The project will run to end of March 2017.

Provision of a service of advice and support free to SMEs operating within the Scottish construction and demolition sectors. The service will identify opportunities to realise waste reduction on construction and demolition sites, prepare business cases for the implementation of material efficiencies, waste reduction measures and innovative approaches to re-use and recycling. The service will be available to the end of March 2018, although continuation beyond March 2017 is subject to continued funding and satisfactory performance.

It is the intention of Cricket Scotland to host International Cricket matches at Stirling County Cricket Club, New Williamfield, Royal Stuart Way, Stirling, FK7 7WS. The project will comprise a maximum 500 capacity Grandstand with hospitality suites, the relocation of Cricket Scotland HQ, an elite indoor practice facility and transport route to the building with parking. The formation of a grass back (bund) for spectators to stand on will also form part of the project. The anticipated cost for this project is approximately £4M including fees. Stirling Council has already instructed a Consultant to liaise with both them and Cricket Scotland to produce Concept Drawings which meet our requirements. These will be passed to the successful Designer. Stirling Council has also instructed Site Investigation Works and will shortly instruct an Archaeological Survey as part of the site sits over a medieval pathing/road. Stirling Council will be responsible for procuring all aspects of the project and will act as client. It is our intention, as a result of this Procurement Process, to instruct a competent designer to liaise with the Council and Cricket Scotland, to help the Council prepare Employees Requirement and to take the Concept Drawings and update them to RIBA 2013 Stage 3. At this point it would be our intention to Procure a Design and Build Contractor to complete the project. It is also our intention that the successful Designer, as part of this Procurement process, will Novate to the Design and Build Contractor.
