Newcastle City Council is seeking several providers across a number of disciplines to assist with the delivery of the Authority’s extensive planning, design, highways and transportation programme. The contracts are intended to cover a period of 3 years and include the option to extend the service period by a further 12 months. The successful tenderer for each Lot will be offered all of the work as lead consultant; the second and third party to the framework agreement will be used as reserve capacity in second and third place, respectively, where the successful tenderer cannot carry out the works. In addition the successful Consultants on Lots 1 and 3 may be invited to participate in a mini-competition where it is considered advantageous by the Council to do so. No mini-competitions will be sought in respect of Lot 2. The works will be divided into three lots: 1. Technical Services – including Highway Design Services, Transport Planning and Transport Modelling and Design Services. It should be noted that street lighting and traffic signal design are NOT included. 2. Transport Database and Analysis – manage, maintain and analyse transportation data sets in an open database format 3. Planning and Urban Design – including policy advice, urban design, landscape & conservation, environment and movement. It should be noted that legal, financial and cost planning advice are NOT included. The successful firm will be required to work closely in partnership with the in-house teams in a multi-disciplinary manner, embracing customer focus, with a commitment to quality, sustainability, and contribute to continuous improvement.
