The following goods, works and consulting services will be procured under the project: Road improvement (reconstruction, capital repair, construction) between Kiev and Kharkiv to motorwaystandard including civil works for the improvement of selected sections on M03 highway. The roadwill be built to a category 1standard which is a four lane divided highway with high safety specifications including central crash barriers and side crashbarriers where required. The project will finance allnecessary road infrastructure such as bridges, interchanges and bypasses, andfinancing the cost of any land acquisition and resettlement necessary for execution of the foregoingworks. In addition, the maintenance on approximately of 840 km of the country's most strategic road network isenvisaged. This will include the M-06, M-07 and M-03 sections, which are the main international and domestic corridors. These roadshave been improved over the last decade and are generally in good or fair condition. This will be done through 5 year performancebased maintenance contracts, the objective of these contracts is to maintain the roads in good condition through regular routinemaintenance, timely periodic maintenance and necessary road safety improvements. 2.
