TenneT has developed policy on cyber security. This policy is partly the result of the increase in outsourced IT services, professional development of internal standards and stricter legislation imposed by European regulations.
A part of the cyber security framework is the structural testing systems that TenneT data present. The IMC department are currently various types of Security Assessments conducted on internal systems, but also on external systems by third parties.
TenneT is seeking three parties that can assist in this and to perform the security assessment. These parties are assigned each one lot and become the 4th plot divided into rotation among the three parties.
Most of the IT systems of TenneT and its subsidiaries are daily backed up to a disk system at the main site and a disaster recovery site.
Weekly is to preserve this backup to tape written to the first data backup and then as archive up to 10 years at a third location.
The availability of these tapes at a third location adds to the continuity process TenneT, so that in the event of a disaster at the primary data center and / or the backup site is provided with the data on these tapes.
The changing of the tapes from the tape robots itself is done by the team of the Basic Infrastructure Services UK IT Services division of Performance Unit Corporate Information Management TenneT.
Storage and transport to the external storage is done by an external tape measure service.
Weekly backups are written to tape the first data backup and then as an archive to preserve a maximum of 10 years at a third location. Storage and external transport to be provided by an external service provider.
