Limerick City and County Council wishes to establish a framework agreement for the provision of consultant engineering (civil and structural) services. The Framework will be primarily used for demolition works contracts associated with the Limerick Regeneration Framework Implementation Plan, to include (but not limited to) the ongoing demolition of existing housing stock within the city. Limerick Urban Revitalisation — O‘Connell Street, Limerick.
Limerick City and County Council is seeking to engage a multidisciplinary consultancy service that will design and deliver the urban centre revitalisation elements described in this brief. The Consultant shall be capable of providing all the necessary consultancy design services such as planning, transport planning and design, urban space design, road design, traffic management and design, structural design, geotechnical design, electrical and mechanical, public lighting, utilities design/diversion, ground condition investigation and remediation, environmental studies, archaeological assessments, cultural impact assessments, quantity surveying, contract administration services, health and safety, the role of the PSDP and all other consultancy services necessary for the performance of the services described in this brief and in Schedule B.
In September 2014 University of Limerick (the ‘Authority’) undertook an OJEC
competition (Ref RFT 88256 — UL0339) for the appointment of a design team for
the phased refurbishment programme for the existing Plassey, Kilmurry, Dromroe
and Thomond Student Village on the University of Limerick Campus
(the ‘Project’). The design team for the project was appointed in February 2015.
The scheme design for Kilmurry Village has been progressed and a ‘pilot project’
comprising the refurbishment of 2 housing units commenced on site in July
2015 and is due for completion in September 2015. Following completion of
the ‘pilot project’ the final scheme design for Kilmurry Village will be confirmed and
the detailed design and procurement of the remainder of the project will be
progressed to allow for commencement of works on site in Summer 2016. No
work has commenced on Plassey, Dromroe and Thomond Student Villages at this
As a result of the liquidation of the originally appointed Architect (‘Original
Consultant’) it is now intended to appoint a replacement Architect with Interior
Design expertise and PSDP (‘Replacement Consultant’) for the Project in 2
separate Lots. Applicants are advised that in respect of Lot 1, Kilmurry Village
Student Residences, the ‘Replacement Consultant’ will be required to take the
agreed final scheme for the ‘pilot project’, as noted above, through detailed
design, tender and construction. In respect of Lot 2 the ‘Replacement
Consultant’ will be required to provide full design services for Plassey Village,
Dromroe Village and Thomond Village Student Residences. The ‘Replacement
Consultant’ will be required to fully assess design work undertaken on the Project
by the ‘Original Consultant’ and to take full responsibility for this existing design
work where relied upon in the delivery of the project.
The University of Limerick now wish to appoint a design team for the Sports
Pitches Development. The following design team services are required;
— Lot 1: Civil / Structural Engineer including Sports Pitch Specialist and PSDP
— Lot 2: Project Manager
— Lot 3: Mechanical & Electrical Engineer
— Lot 4: Quantity Surveyor
— Lot 5: Landscape Architect

The Authority is now seeking to continue its upgrade to the national ICT infrastructure Programme. The Munster Regional Communications Centre, through its lead Authority, Limerick City and County Council, is seeking to procure a new National Emergency Call Handling and Mobilising System for the Irish Fire Service which will provide Command, Control, Communications and Intelligence (CTri) between the three current Regional Communications Centres (RCCs) and over 200 fire stations, supported by a 5-year maintenance support for the infrastructure and software services with possible extensions past this point for an additional 2 years (1 + 1).
