Trade Agreement: NAFTA/AIT/Canada FTAs with Peru/Colombia/Panama Tendering Procedures: Generally only one firm has been invited to bid Non-Competitive Procurement Strategy: Interchangeable Parts Comprehensive Land Claim Agreement: No Vendor Name and Address: DOTY SCIENTIFIC INC. 700 CLEMSON RD COLUMBIA South Carolina United States 29229 Nature of Requirements: Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) probe 31970-168414/B Aquino, Jill Telephone No. - (204) 894-0646 ( ) Fax No. - (204) 983-7796 ( ) 1. Advance Contract Award Notice (ACAN) An ACAN is a public notice indicating to the supplier community that a department or agency intends to award a contract for goods, services or construction to a pre-identified supplier, thereby allowing other suppliers to signal their interest in bidding, by submitting a statement of capabilities. If no supplier submits a statement of capabilities that meets the requirements set out in the ACAN, on or before the closing date stated in the ACAN, the contracting officer may then proceed with the award to the pre-identified supplier. 2. Definition of the requirement The National Research Council (NRC) has a requirement for a Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) probe. The new NMR probe must work with the current NMR hardware and software platforms. The NRC currently has only one probe in the NMR facility; the additional probe is required to provide non-stop NMR service in the case of repair for the current NMR probe. 3. Criteria for assessment of the Statement of Capabilities (Minimum Essential Requirements) Any interested supplier must demonstrate by way of a statement of capabilities that its equipment meets the following requirements and is compatible with the Agilent NMR System: 1. The new NMR Probe must be 100% compatible with the current Agilent NMR System, its hardware/software currently in operation at NRC 2. 5 mm probe 3. Indirect Detection 4. PFG (Pulse Field Gradient) o Highly corrected BZ gradient coils, including high-order active shielding coils (AIR-COOLED). o ±4% RMS gradient uniformity over 12 mm f x 28 mm h cylinder. Nominal coil resistance of 1.6 O; inductance of 209 µH. Gradient magnitude 18 G/(Acm) throughout linear region. o 25% duty cycle pulsed gradient of 180 G/cm with 10 A @ 16 V. o Continuous gradient of 90 G/cm with 5 A @ 8 V. o Initial slew rate of 9 G/(cmµs) for 100 V source. o RF shielding between gradient coils and sample region. Includes overheat protection thermocouples. o Recovery from 0-90% for a ginal of 0.015 ppm linewidth, following a single 10-A 1- ms. Pulse will be under 0.02 ms, after the voltage at the gradient coil has decayed to less than 0.2 mV. Decay of the voltage at the gradient coil to 0.2 mV typically ranges from 0.05 to 1.3 ms. 5. H/X/lock channels 6. Double Band Frequency (high band tuned to 1H @600MHz, low band tunable to 31P, 13C, 29Si, 15N) 7. High Performance Actively Shielded Z-Axis Gradient to produce rectangular gradient without ECC for best dephasing per unit time 8. Variable temperature capability (-50 ~ 80oC) 9. 1H lineshape 4.5/45/81 Hz, 50%/0.55%/0.11%, non-spinning 1H CHCl3 sample 10. RF specifications at room temperature, for 50 mM NaCl samples: o 1H/ p/2 pulse length of 7.5 µs with = 120 W at 600 MHz o 31P decoupling at 12 kHz with = 100 W at 242.9 MHz o 13C decoupling at 12 kHz with = 120 W at 150.9 MHz o 13C/ p/2pulse length of 18.5 µs with = 120 W at 150.9 MHz o 15N decoupling at 10 kHz with = 300 W at 60.8 MHz 4.
