The Project is for the provision of a new build Primary and Nursery School for Braidside Integrated Primary School, Ballymena. The site is immediately adjacent to the current school, currently occupied by Castle tower School. The works comprise a new 14No Classroom school and single nursery, demolition of existing school building, car parking, footpaths and associated soft / hard landscaping site works at Fry's Road, Ballymena. The Contract will be the NEC3 Construction Contract 2013 Option A, Develop and Construct, Priced Contract with Activity Schedule.

The new facility (circa 2 500 m2 inc. Nursery and SMA) will cater for the long term educational needs of Braidside Integrated Primary School's 440 pupils and will replace their existing inadequate and out-dated facilities at their Fry's Road Site, Ballymena.

The accommodation will be as per the DENI handbook. Other associated works include, demolition of existing school, provision of car-parking facilities, hard-standing, play areas.

This tender is for the production and supply of the following Services for the Northern Ireland Government Departments' Exhibition at the Balmoral Show in 2017 and for a subsequent period of 2 years subject to annual review. The exhibition will be sited in Balmoral Park, the Royal Ulster Agricultural Society RUAS Showgrounds at the Maze, Lisburn, Co. Antrim. The initial show will take place from the 10 to the 13.5.2017 and the following 2 shows will be in mid May 2018 and 2019.

NIE Networks' Asbestos Management Plan, approved by the NIE Networks Health and Safety Management Committee (HSMC), requires all Asbestos Surveying and Monitoring requirements to be carried out by qualified surveyors and that sample analysis is carried out in UKAS accredited laboratories. Health and Safety Legislation mandates that this work is carried out to protect employees and others from the potentially deadly effects of inhaling asbestos fibres.

The current Framework Agreement is due to expire on the 15.4.2017 and NIE Networks aims to establish a Framework Agreement (as a result of this tender competition) with a suitably qualified and experienced Contractor in late February/early March 2017. This will enable the appointed Contractor with enough time to have delivery personnel safety trained in time for contract commencement on the 16.4.2017.

It is envisaged the works will primarily range from New Build Social Housing to New Build Affordable Housing. The works may also include property refurbishment. DfE - South West College Erne Project

The contract is for the Design and Construction of the new Erne Campus for the South West College. The project is to be constructed on the former Erne Hospital site at Cornagrade Road, Enniskillen. The project will include full construction works, mechanical and electrical services, external and site development works including upgrading the existing site access. The facilities will be designed and constructed to achieve BREEAM outstanding and PassivHaus Premium standards and certification. The Contracting Authority have engaged an integrated consultancy team (ICT) to develop designs, obtain planning approval and prepare the contract documents. The planning approved design will form an integral part of the employer’s requirements as part of the contract for the project. For more info see Section 7.2 of MOI Part B

DfC - Forth River Culvert Extension

A study recommended extending an existing culvert and infilling a ravine to remediate bank slips along the banks of the Forth River within Forth River Business Park, Springfield Road, Belfast. The Contract is for the provision of the design and construction of the culvert extension. The works are anticipated to include: - Installation of approximately 200 linear metres of 3.0m diameter pipe-work within an 11m deep ravine. - Construction of 2Nr. in-situ reinforced concrete manholes within an 11m deep ravine. - Construction of an in-situ reinforced concrete inlet structure, metalwork grille and anti-erosion measures within an 11m deep ravine. - Demolition of existing inlet structure and connection to downstream culvert. - Earthworks to include infilling of the existing ravine along the length of the new culvert. - Management of the existing river flows, silt mitigation and pollution prevention throughout the works. - Construction of an access road to facilitate Rivers Agency maintenance staff. All construction should be in accordance with the Civil Engineering Specification for the Water Industry, 7th Edition. The main design requirements are for the reinforced concrete manhole chambers, inlet structure, pipe structure and foundation. Design works will require liaison with the Project Manager and Rivers Agency to obtain Schedule 6 consent. All design work will be in accordance with relevant Eurocode, British Standards and Best Practice. It will also be necessary for all design and construction to comply with all conditions set out in the planning approvals. Design work is anticipated to commence in February 2017 with site works commencing in April 2017 and completed by July 2017. See MOI Part B for further Information

It is envisaged the works will primarily range from new build social housing to new build social/affordable housing mix. The works may also include property refurbishment. Contractors may be expected to provide design elements to the project which may include limited instructed design to be detailed within the tender.
The Contracting Authority reserves the right to pick multiple winners from each competition. Tenders may include but not limited to fixed price submissions shared risk elements and traditional price list/bill of quantities.
Works are separated into the following Lots:
1. Lot 1 — Building Works below 1 000 000 GBP,
2. Lot 2 — Building Works 1 000 000 GBP to 2 500 000 GBP,
3. Lot 3 — Building Works above 2 500 000 GBP.
Please note that if applicants are applying to all 3 Lots the Contracting Authority may at their sole discretion, limited the number of Lots to a maximum of 2 per applicant.
