The introduction and operation of Luas Cross City (LCC) in College Green introduces a new mode of transport into an already busy and congested area. The development of traffic management plans in order to allow LCC to operate safely and efficiently and to cater for pedestrians, and especially cyclists requires a fundamental rethink of the ‘use’ of College Green. The Environment and Transportation Department have proposed the removal of all East West transport movements through College Green, except for pedestrians and cyclists, in order to allow the safe and efficient movement of all transport modes in this area.
Restricted Procedure to include the refurbishment and deep retrofit of the existing structure and the addition of 2 new floors of accommodation over the existing building, to provide a total of 80 No housing units, to meet current apartment area standards. The total area of the completed development is c. 8550 sq. m.

South Dublin County Council intends to invite submissions for the Development of Rapid Build Project of 85 unit two storey housing project on St. Aidan's site using design build contract. The contract may be let in one single contract, or tendered as two separate contracts subject to full evaluation prior to tender. Contractors will be required to design and construct the dwellings and site infrastructure on an accelerated delivery program, using supplied layout drawings developed to preliminary design and planning consent stage. Participation in the competition will be subject to qualification.
