Improving Educational Infraestructure Management
The TC will support the management of the Ministry of Education regarding the work of leadership and supervision provided for in the law creating the trust (Law 9124): "For the creation of the trust, the MEP will provide prototypes built to be used as a basis for the specific design of each particular project and assign the right to use some land for the construction of educational infrastructure in these. Additionally, as technical partner, the MEP, in coordination with the Department of Infrastructure and Educational Facilities (DIEE), will create a Project Supervision Unit that will be responsible for monitoring the execution of the trust" (Law 9124 p13 ). In addition, it will allow systematize knowledge and lessons learned arising from the implementation of the work program 2824/OC -CR, as the implementation of a trust model in order to be used in the future, as input of their own operational activities in educational infrastructure, as well as participation in other interventions of this type for the provision of infrastructure. This will be done through consulting services to support, among others, in the fields of law, civil engineering, structural engineering, architecture, economics, environmental and social engineering to verify the requirements of the environmental and social plans as part of the construction and management of projects that incorporate international best practices. The TC supports the execution of the loan agreement 2824/OC-CR Building and Equipping Education Infrastructure resulting from a deepening of sectoral dialogue within the 2011 to 2014 Country Strategy with Costa Rica (3.2), looking directly benefit 35,000 children and young people, and is aligned with the Bank's priorities defined in the GCI -9 through the creation of infrastructure for competitiveness and social welfare. TC and operation are also aligned with the Sectoral Framework for Education and Early Childhood Development (GN- 2708-2) , consistent with the fourth dimension of successful education systems to ensure that all schools have the infrastructure and materials.
