Tana bridge is located on the E6 between East and West Finnmark as part of the national road network between Nordkjosbotn — Kirkenes.

Based on the adopted zoning plan, a new bridge shall be built over Tana river at the Tana bridge settlement. The new bridge shall replace the existing Tana bridge, a flexible and narrow suspension bridge of 220 m from 1948. The new bridge will be constructed 100 metres upstream of the old bridge.

A roundabout shall be built on each side of the bridge. Approximately 780 metres of FV890 and E6 will be new/upgraded, and in addition there will be approx. 580 m of footpath and bicycle path.

After the new bridge opens, the existing bridge will be demolished and removed.

Recreation areas shall be developed and restored on each side of the river, 1 with toilet facilities.

The new Tana bridge is a diagonal cable bridge with 1 centric cable plan of 22 cables.

The bridge will be 259 metres long.

— Ballast box/counterweight house 25 metres.

— Main span of 234 metres.

Tower and bridge girder are constructed in steel.

Asymmetric tower, where the tower legs cross each other at approximately 70 metres high.

The longest tower leg will have a height of 95 metres.

The bridge girder in the main span will be performed as a box suspended by the bracing cables [cable stays]. The bridge girder will be approximately 15 m wide with 2 driving lanes and footpath on both sides.

The tower foundation approximately 30 x 15 x 2,5 metres.

Ballast box/counterweight house approx. 25 x 15 x 11 metres.

Land abutments with storage and bridge joint.

The diagonal cables will be advertised in a separate contract and transferred to the facility and handed over to the contractor.

Effect lighting, and the traffic lighting of the bridge will be transferred as a parallel contract to the main contract. Site electricals are included in this contract.

The basis for the steel works is given as a combination of 3D model and work drafts.

The contract includes demolition, clearing and removal of the existing bridge. The construction is a suspended bridge. The distance between the towers is approximately 195 metres with a total length of approx. 220 m. The concrete shall be crushed for reuse, and all of the steel is to be delivered to an approved steelworks for recycling.

E18 Varodd bridge

The project E18 Varodd bridge is situated on the E18 just east of the centre of Kristiansand and it crosses Topdalsfjorden. The new bridge (Varodd bridge south) shall be constructed as a cantilever bridge (FFB) and it shall be constructed between the two existing bridges, which are a suspension bridge from 1956 (Varodd bridge (1956)) and a cantilever bridge from 1994 (Varodd bridge (1994)). A new foot and cycle path system shall also be constructed and Varodd bridge (1956) shall be demolished. The new Varodd bridge south must first be built with a reduced cross section on part of the length, and then completed after that Varodd bridge (1956) has been demolished.

The E18 must maintain its dual carriageway throughout the construction site area for the entire construction period. A foot and cycle path system shall also be maintained throughout the entire construction period.

The current E18 has an annual daily traffic count of approx. 50 000.

This is a model based assignment in accordance with the Norwegian Public Roads Administration's hand book R760.

Brief description of the assignment:

— Alteration, new construction of the E18 eastbound and westbound lanes with the adjoining local roads/ramps, including signs, water and sewage and electro.

— Footpath systems locally at Søm and Varodd, including signs, water and sewage and electro.

— Terrain measures for the construction of roads and bridges, including dry walls of natural stone.

— Construction of Varodd bridge south.

— Construction of 3 foot/cycle path bridges: Varodden, Sømslandet down and Sømslandet up.

— Alterations to a culvert in Narviga: Varen.

— Alterations to covers, railings, signs and lighting on Varodd bridge (1994).

— Demolition of Varodd bridge (1956), culvert at Søm and steps to Vardåsen.

— Alterations of municipal water and sewage installations at Søm.

— Construction of noise reduction screen.

The bridge shall be constructed as a dual box-girder bridge with an associated concrete surface. The bridge span is approx. 68 m and the width of the bridge is 15 m. The abutments are founded on steel core piles on rock. Axis 2 is crossing a municipal road directly under the E6 in such a way that the abutment is constructed as a culvert structure on the landside of the bridge. Axis 1 has a hanger-on abutment on one single foundation. The existing abutment and E6 shall be secured against the construction pit with drilled pipe sheet piles.

The contract shall, in addition to the construction of a new bridge, include blasting works for the entire mountain ridge located west of the existing E6. Blasting works for road-beds. The blasted rock shall i.a. be used for fillings for the bridge abutments.

Småpudden foot and cycle path bridge consists of a new bridge over Damsgårdsundet. The bridge is a part of Bergen municipality's area improvements and it will ensure better access between Løvstakksiden and the centre of Bergen. Statens vegvesen Region midt shall construct a new bridge for the E14 over the river Forra in Stjørdal municipality. The main aim of the project is to improve access on the E14 over the river Forra. The current bridge has one lane and is therefore too narrow for two (2) vehicles to pass each other. In addition the bearing capacity of the existing bridge over the river Forra is not good enough. The total length of the new construction on the E14 is 555 metres. Of which: — New E14 to the west of the bridge: 207 metres. — New E14 to the east of the bridge: 273 metres. New Forra bridge: 75 metres, lattice steel arch and concrete cover. The current bridge shall be demolished and the new bridge shall be constructed on the same site. The E14 shall be constructed with a road width of 8.5 metres. The total road width on the Forra bridge is 10.0 metres. The work comprises the construction of a new bridge with the adjoining roads. A temporary bridge will be constructed for traffic flow. The construction of the temporary foundations is included in this contract, but the builder will construct the temporary bridge (assembly, rent and disassembly). There will also be some adjustments to farm driveways and service roads. Two (2) bus stops, 420 metres of new farm road / forest road and 120 metres of service road shall be constructed. There are strict requirements regarding traffic flow on the E14 as there are very few diversions available for local heavy traffic. The annual daily traffic count on the E14 is approximately, 4 900 vehicles / 24 hours.

County road 44 Flekkefjord town bridge
