The United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) is located in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia is seeking Expression of Interest (EOIs) from qualified companies with the required experties and experience for the provision of Cleaning and Janitorial Services. The main objective of this requirement is for the provision of cleaning and janitorial services at the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), the United Nations Conference Center (UNCC) and its related auxiliary and main buildings, (Niger, Zambezi, Nile, Congo and Limpopo building, MRB, DRB, etc), connection and buildings and surrounding areas located within the premises of the Economic Commission for Africa at Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Apart from UNECA, the complex also accommodates over 20 UN Agencies, some 3000 persons (staff members, consultants, contractors, etc) and receives a large number of visitors as well. For example, 99,306 visitors were received in the years 2007-2008. The United Nations Conference Center in Addis Ababa (UNCC-AA), one of a few complex conference center in the country, hosts 55,000 VIPs including Heads of State and Government and Ministers in the years 2007-2008. Interested firms will be invited to a “Request for Proposal” (RFP) stage. This EOI will determine the group of firms that will receive the RFP for the services. UNECA reserves the right to change or cancel the requirement at any time during the EOI/ or solicitation process. Thus, submitting a reply to this EOI does not automatically guarantee that your company will be considered for receipt of the solicitation when issued. The RFP and any subsequent commitment to contract will be issued in accordance with UN rules and regulations. Please note that the UNECA is precluded from entering into contract with a firm that is not registered with UNEGM. Those interested in responding to this EOI but not currently registered as vendors with UNGM, are encouraged to register before submission of the EOI in the United Nations Global Market Place (UNGM). The Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) hereby solicits proposal from your Company/firm for the supply and administration of Dry Cleaning and Laundry Services for the Security and Safety Service (SSS), Medical Services and other official and private customers at the ECA compound, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. UNECA will provide the necessary space of approximately 20 m2 to the Contractor located currently within the ECA compound. The Contractor will be charged a monthly rent for the allocated space. The current amount for 2016 is Birr 57 per month per m2. The successful bidder will be awarded a contract for an initial period of 3 years for the above mentioned services with an option to extend for two (2) additional consecutive periods of one (1) year each based on Performance.
