Any interested supplies must demonstrate by way of a statement of capabilities that it meets the following Mandatory Requirements:  Mandatory Requirements  - Rotary Screw Trap (RST) must have 5' diameter 4 blade cone capture drum. - Capture drum/cone exterior must be constructed of perforated stainless steel with perforations no larger than 5/32". - RST must have clean-out doors (Two doors in the tapered portion of the cone) in order to clean out drum of debris (e.g., large branches, leaves) safely and efficiently. - RST must have 22' long x 24" wide pontoons with a cleat to each pontoon along the outboard side. - RST must havesafety hand-rail handrails along the inboard side of each pontoon and across the deck facing the cone, short handrail across each pontoon forward of the crossbeams, and safety guards around all the moving shafts near the livebox. - RST must have smoothbottomed, continuously water circulation, live well. - Live well must have "eddy" area for captured fish to rest in. - Live well must have automatic cleaning feature to expel collected debris requiring no external power source (remote site). - Live well must prevent escape of salmonid specimens 50mm and larger and accommodate locking. - RST purchase must include the specialized trailer with down straps for transport - RST capture efficiency MUST be comparable to RST's already in use in DFO to maintain ability to compare with existing data sets across river systems.  In order to maintain scientific consistency and comparability across this broad ranging research initiative it is required that all data production across time frames and collaborators is carried out on comparable machines.
